The Journey So Far
OWAB FOUNDATION
OWAB FOUNDATION had its first event tagged CHRISTMAS FOOD SHARING on the 16th December 2020, with the elderly and people living with disabilities as beneficiaries.
Aside from the food sharing, we also conducted medical tests for the beneficiaries to educate them on health dos and don’ts to enhance their well-being. Alongside counseling, physical assessments and tests were conducted.
The Palace of the late Oba Wahab Ayinde Balogun, the Onisheri of Isheri-Olofin, hosted this eventAs a foundation dedicated to bringing Wellness and Beauty, we encountered a situation where our representative visited a man unable to attend the event due to health issues, and we were deeply moved by the unhealthy state of his apartment. Our proactive team initiated what we called the REVAMPING OF PROJECT ISHERI-OLOFIN.
We decluttered the apartment and changed its entire appearance. The community rejoiced upon seeing the transformation of the man’s apartment. The beneficiary, Mr. Biliami, couldn’t hold back tears of joy. OWAB FOUNDATION is passionate about bringing Wellness and Beauty, and the revamping project is something we have committed to doing regularly.
The founder of OWAB FOUNDATION is undeniably a selfless woman, fully committed to supporting humanity. The focus on the elderly and people living with disabilities stems from the understanding that aging is natural and disabilities are not chosen. Therefore, it is essential to extend love to people in these categories, and we are thrilled to see our foundation growing stronger.
On the 30th of March 2024, we held another event tagged EASTER FOOD SHARING at the palace of Onigando of Igando, Alayeluwa Oba Lasisi Gbadamosi, where food items were distributed to the elderly and people living with disabilities. A medical team was also present to assess their health and provide counsel on living a healthier life. The event was covered by one of the leading media outfits in Nigeria, TVC, and aired on TVC news.
Wellness
We recognize the importance of physical, emotional, and social well-being in promoting a fulfilling and healthy life.
Independence
We believe that every individual should have the opportunity to live an independent life with dignity and respect.
Without pausing, exactly a week later, on the 6th of April 2024, our foundation embarked on MY IFTAR MEAL, where cooked food was shared at the Wahab Abdulwaheed Folawiyo Central Mosque, Shitta roundabout Surulere. Beneficiaries came out in large numbers, bringing joy to their faces.
OWAB FOUNDATION is blessed with highly committed team members who understand their roles and strive to implement every instruction effectively, with the ultimate aim of bringing smiles to people’s faces.
The journey so far for OWAB FOUNDATION has been a significant success, despite funding mostly from the founder’s pocket. As the saying goes, “the success and positive impact of the last event is a motivation for the next event.” Our Mission and Vision at OWAB Foundation drive us on a continuous journey, with the help of the Almighty, as we strive to nurture more hope and nourish more lives.
